Rebecca Burpo, CNM

"Birthing has been a lifetime source of joy-from my childhood days of new siblings arriving, through my early adulthood years of naturally birthing my own children, followed by a career in assisting women with birth and most recently welcoming my grandchildren into the world. I have always known that "Birthing" is my life's work."

"As I reflect on this, I feel that the flow of harmony, love, and health that accompanies natural birth is the "spirit of birth" that we all crave. Thus, I am currently striving to integrate this "spirit of birth" into all areas as I expand my practice to include natural health consultations. I hope to assist women to trust in their own ability to allow the "spirit of birth" to flow throughout their lives."

With more than 20 years of experience in women's health care, Rebecca (Becky) is the Administrative Director of Allen Birthing Center. She has provided "hands-on" birthing care in over 4,000 births at homes, birth centers, and hospitals. She is currently broadening her scope to focus more on natural health consultation and education.

Becky's educational preparation is equally strong. In addition to a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's degree in health care administration, she also holds post-graduate certification in midwifery. She is currently completing studies for a doctor of naturopathy degree (N.D.) with an expected graduation date of December, 2009.
